The new edition of ISO 9001 is scheduled for publication on Wednesday 16th September 2026.
This was announced in an August bulletin from ISO/TC 176/SC 2, the ISO technical committee responsible for quality management standardisation.
Do I need to do anything?
Not right now. Until 16th September, ISO 9001:2015 remains the current version of the ISO 9001 standard.
Even when the revised standard is published, you will likely have a few years to update your quality management system (QMS) and bring it in line with ISO 9001:2026 before your existing certification becomes invalid.
