With a new ISO 9001 revision due later in 2026, many certified organisations are asking the same question: what's changing, and what do we need to do about it?

Who can issue ISO certification?

There is a common misconception in the United Kingdom that certifications to ISO standards (in particular ISO 9001) can only be issued by UKAS-accredited certification companies. This is not correct, and clarification can even be found on the UKAS website explaining this fact.

While UKAS is this country’s national accreditation body, their level of accreditation and oversight may not be the best fit for British companies looking to get certified to an ISO standard. In our experience, using a UKAS-accredited certification body is often more expensive than the independent accredited certification process we offer here at ISO Accelerator.

Our service is a great fit for small and medium-sized businesses looking for independent certification to an ISO standard. If this were not the case, then we wouldn’t have hundreds of satisfied repeat customers - and dozens upon dozens of glowing reviews!
