The world

World Accreditation Day takes place on the 9th of June every year. Established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), this annual event aims to raise awareness of the value of accreditation.

The theme for World Accreditation Day 2021 is 'Accreditation: Supporting the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)'.

What are the SDGs?

As we mentioned in our last blog post, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the seventeen goals that form the core of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a resolution that was adopted by 193 UN member states in September 2015. To view the full list of all seventeen SDGs, visit sdgs.un.org/goals.

World Accreditation Day 2021 will focus on highlighting the key role that accreditation plays in the development of a fully-functioning society, and the ways in which accreditation will help the nations of the world to achieve the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals.

Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

The UN's ninth Sustainable Development Goal is to...

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

Here at ISO Accelerator, we are supporting the pursuit of Goal 9 by offering an independently-accredited certification service that is innovative and highly sustainable. Our remote certification methods have taken numerous auditors off the road, significantly reducing the amount of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) being released into the atmosphere.

The United Nations recently launched its own Partnership Accelerator programme that aims to "accelerate effective partnerships in support of the Sustainable Development Goals". This programme is perfectly aligned with ISO Accelerator's own programme of sustainable, independently-accredited certification.

As a company in the private sector, we at ISO Accelerator have been spending and investing heavily in new technologies to simplify the world of certification. As we continue to do this, we encourage like-minded companies to join us on a journey to achieve our sustainability goals.
